I hereby authorize the The Del Rio Skateboarding Committee, The Del Rio Parks Foundation, City of Del Rio, and all agencies whose property and/or personnel are used, and other sponsoring or co-sponsoring company or individual(s) to act for me according to their reasonable judgment in any emergency requiring medical attention. I acknowledge that participation in athletics carries with it a risk of physical injury, I agree that The Del Rio Skateboarding Committee, The Del Rio Parks Foundation, City of Del Rio, and all agencies whose property and/or personnel are used, and other sponsoring or co-sponsoring company or individual(s) shall not be liable to me or the student/participant for any injury or damage, whatsoever caused, resulting directly or indirectly from the student or my participation in The Del Rio Skateboarding Committee, The Del Rio Parks Foundation, City of Del Rio, and all agencies whose property and/or personnel are used, and other sponsoring or co-sponsoring company or individual(s) skateboarding lessons at any time preceding, during, or after the lesson is in session and I hereby discharge and shall indemnify The Del Rio Skateboarding Committee, The Del Rio Parks Foundation, City of Del Rio, and all agencies whose property and/or personnel are used, and other sponsoring or co-sponsoring company or individual(s) from all actions, claims, and demands the student or I may have for any such injury or damage. All medical expenses incurred will be the responsibility of the participant or the participant’s parent or guardian. I have no knowledge of any physical or mental impairment that would affect the student’s or my participation in the skateboard lesson. DISCLAIMER Skateboarding is considered an extreme sport, therefore there is a high risk of injury even if followed by an instructor and participant is wearing protective gear. No matter how careful the participants and the instructors are, no matter what safety equipment is used and worn, and what precautions are taken, there is an inherent risk that cannot be eliminated. The risk of injury includes minor injuries such as bruises, scrapes, and more serious injuries such as broken bones, dislocations, sprains, and catastrophic injuries such as permanent paralysis or even death due to falls on the back, neck or head. Other patrons may be using the skatepark. It is common for patrons of the skatepark to bump into each other. Miscellaneous items and equipment left unattended could become lost or stolen. The Del Rio Skateboarding Committee, The Del Rio Parks Foundation, City of Del Rio, and all agencies whose property and/or personnel are used, and other sponsoring or co-sponsoring company or individual(s) are not responsible for lost or stolen items. Valuable items should be left at home and never brought to camp. Students can be REMOVED for the following: - Refusing to wear safety equipment - Bullying - Not following safety policy - Not cooperating with staff By signing this waiver, I intend to bind my heirs, executors, administrators, successors, and assigns. I understand the terms of this release are a contract. Before signing this release, I read it fully and acknowledge that I understand it. I will additionally permit the use of mine, or my child's name and pictures in broadcasts, telecasts, newspapers, brochures, etc. I have read the entry information provided for the event and certify any compliance by my signature below.
